More
power for all- including elite athletes.
"Train
slow - play slow" is the negative physiological reality well understood at
the elite athlete level.
Resistance
training in addition to increasing strength, creates "muscle memory"
relative to speed, muscle recruitment and movement direction. Weight training
requires slow movement because of inertia.
The resistance profile of lifting
weight mass starts with a resistance peak at the beginning (overcoming resting
weight mass inertia). While in motion inertia carries the weight thru the middle
of the repetition (reduced resistance). The end of the lift requires reduced effort
/speed, or inertia
carries the mass which
becomes "thrown" at the end of the stroke.
For example a bench
press using weight mass at even moderate speed requires deceleration in the final
25% of the stroke - exactly where the muscle group is the strongest and capable
of creating the greatest force if properly trained with resistance and speed or
Power Training. The lack of inertia is the
BIOTRON™'s Power Training enabling feature.
The
versatility derived from having many exercise options, allows sport specific power
training of appropriate muscle groups and muscle activation sequence. With these
features the
BIOTRON™
enables sport specific training protocols beneficial for
any athlete (including elite athletes) wanting more power for their sports specific
activities.
General populations, especially seniors, benefit greatly from
circuit power training with real life functional improvement, including quicker
reflex and power reactions resulting in reducing fall injury severity among other
benefits. |
