Strength testing- Isometric, static test protocol-
Strength
testing is an invaluable training tool for positive reinforcement and recoding
beginning strength and improvements (requires a workout partner or personal trainer):
1.
Select
the exercise to be tested.
2.
Position
user with correct posture for the exercise and position in stroke to be tested.
3.
Set
resistance to maximum (250 pounds).
4.
Have
the user exert maximum isometric force, pain free, on the resistance lever arm.
5.
The
personal trainer moves the resistance lever reducing resistance until the resistance
arm moves from the applied force.
6.
The
value on the scale at the moment of movement shows the users strength.
